Unfortunately, we didn’t know they weren’t performing or that the perceived audience was solely interested in the content portion, until it was too late. With Panoramic, we see shifts right away.”

ETL / ELT stands for Extract, Transform, and Load (or Extract, Load, and Transform depending on whether you have a database or cloud data warehouse). ELT / ETL tools are important in building and managing data pipelines. More specifically, tools like FiveTran, Stitch, or Rivery extract data (from third parties like Facebook or AppNexus), organize the data, and load it into a database or cloud data warehouse.
A database allows your company to store relational marketing data, such as the total number of customer purchases, the average purchase price, the customer’s name, and the customer’s shipping address. A cloud data warehouse is similar to a database in basic storage capability but is different in that a warehouse provides unlimited scale to store, query and manage your data. Cloud data warehouses provide you more hands-off monitoring and analysis of your data, whereas a database requires more upfront work and ongoing maintenance.
Panoramic maintains a live connection to the data sources that are connected, so the data that appears in Panoramic is as fresh as the data that is in your underlying data warehouse. Some third party marketing data is not delivered (via API) to your data warehouse in real-time, but it is almost always up-to-date through the previous day.
Getting the answers you need from your marketing data is a complex task, requiring a lot of time and resources to make sense of it. Data warehouses will store your data and keep it secure, while ETL/ELT tools load all of your data from third parties. Neither tool helps you figure out what your data means or how to easily use it. Typically the data transformation stage is managed by a team of engineers or analysts who can write and maintain custom code, whereas Panoramic dynamically transforms your data without needing to write a line of code.
Panoramic was built with the marketer and analyst in mind, however our data transformation solution works for anyone who needs to map and model a large volume of reporting data, without writing a line of code. No, you don’t need to. Panoramic has lightweight visualizations like tables, line charts, bar graphs, pie charts, and more that easily visualize your newly structured data to embed within reports or simply to gain insights. For more advanced visualizations or animations, however, we suggest using a visualization tool like Tableau or Google Data Studio.
